Ipsos pulls out of making binding offer for Kantar

LONDON (ShareCast) - (Sharecast News) - French polling company Ipsos has pulled out of making a binding offer for Kantar Media, just days after starting talks on a possible deal.
Ipsos confirmed on Monday it was in talks with Kantar for a potential acquisition of its TV ratings data business "in line with the company's strategy to regularly evaluate investment opportunities that may strengthen its market position".
However, "after careful review" Ipsos said: "At this time, decided not to submit a binding offer," in a short statement.
